Our Services
IT Infrastructure
Plan-Net’s Infrastructure Consulting team has a number of goals. Providing excellent technical skills when required is certainly one of them, but more than that, we strive to help our customers to get from the often chaotic excitement of the beginning of a large implementation project, right through to a successful conclusion.
Plan-Net’s skills span a wide range technology areas, from desktops and servers, through e-mail and groupware systems, remote access and systems management, including the complex networks upon which these technologies run. Plan-Net can provide not only the technical skills that are needed, but also strong project management and strategy consulting to really help your company get the most value from its technology investment.
Information Security
Information Security is not just an IT problem - it’s a real business issue, and recent company governance legislation in both Europe and the US has only strengthened that point. Unfortunately most IT security companies give the impression that tackling security problems is just a question of buying the right products. It isn’t – products certainly play their part, but successful Information Security is as much about fixing processes and changing attitudes as it is about deploying software. By combining business and corporate governance experience with in-depth technical skills, Plan-Net’s Security group are uniquely placed to help our customers develop better and more thorough security practices whilst maintaining their business agility.
Service Management
Service Management is one of today’s hot IT topics, with many companies looking at how they can improve technology planning and processes to deliver a more efficient and cost-effective service. What sets Plan-Net apart from our SM competitors is a real-word approach which can apply the principles of ITIL to deliver true business value, and not simply a generic and academic approach. To this end, we have developed a range of Service Management consulting products which have been proven to accelerate the adoption of ITIL best practices within our clients. Every member of our Service Management consulting team has more than 20 years experience of managing and improving service inside large and complex organisations.
IT Support
The IT Support function has changed radically from a technology perspective in recent times. But its primary goals of maximising uptime and helping users get the most from their systems haven't really changed at all. Many companies lose sight of this in their on-going struggle to keep on top of the latest technologies. One of Plan-Net's major strengths is our history in IT support. It was our original business back in 1990, and is still very much central to our current operation. That history is a big help, because we know from past experience what things work and don't work in a Support environment, and can adapt those principle no matter what new technology is thrown at us.
In addition to this, we have a commitment to excellence in customer service that runs right through the company. Many of our clients, particularly in the financial sector, depend upon their desktop and server systems to run their businesses. Only by keeping them running, and delivering exceptional response and fix times, can we really say that we're providing true business value. In Plan-Net’s IT Support Division, the customer really is king!
IT Recruitment
Differentiating one IT recruitment company from another can be very difficult. But at Plan-Net, we've never lost sight of the reasons why we started our Recruitment Division, and for us those reasons still provide a compelling argument for employers to do business with us. First and foremost, we decided to focus primarily on the technology arenas that we understood i.e. desktops, servers, networking, security and IT management. With technical skills and real business experience running throughout the company, we have a significant advantage in actually understanding what our customers are looking for. Secondly, we elected to be quality rather than quantity driven. We would much rather go the extra mile and get our best set of candidates together before presentation to the client, rather than expecting them to wade through a mountain of irrelevant, poorly presented CVs.
The interesting thing is that with our on-going investment in new systems and processes, we can actually deliver this quality with the same turnaround time as others can provide their slap-dash approach. Given the many pressures that employers face, it’s not surprising that they seem to prefer the Plan-Net way.
