BLM signs first ever outsource contract – a 5-year IT Support Service Contract with Plan-Net plc

In my last piece, I talked about Problem Management and how it is often confused with Major Incident management. In fact, while the two are linked, they are very different beasts. However strong your Problem Management, you must be ready for business critical incidents.

 The UK and Ireland’s leading risk and insurance law business, BLM (formed from the recent merger of Berrymans Lace Mawer and HBM Sayers) has agreed a five year IT Managed Support contract with Service Provider Plan-Net.

IT Services Provider, Plan-Net will provide IT support to all of BLM’s 1,600 staff across its 12 offices throughout the UK and Ireland.

Both 1st and 2nd line support will now be managed by Plan-Net and will be delivered through a combination of on-site teams with remote support from its 24/7 legal IT Service Desk based in London, Plan-Net 24.

The new model will help realise efficiencies and provide increased availability by extending hours of support to 8pm. The service will be delivered to Service Level Agreements agreed between both parties which cover first time fix rates, service resolution and customer satisfaction. This is the first major outsourcing contract for the law firm.
