In my last piece, I talked about Problem Management and how it is often confused with Major Incident management. In fact, while the two are linked, they are very different beasts. However strong your Problem Management, you must be ready for business critical incidents.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is an international organization that was launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition.

Its Head Office is in Geneva but employees are based all over the world working with partners including governments, civil society, businesses, UN agencies, and academic institutions to develop programs that deliver large-scale and locally relevant solutions to malnutrition in more than 30 countries.

The organisation enlisted Plan-Net to review its global IT infrastructure to ensure it was extracting the best performance and efficiency from its existing systems. As part of the healthcheck, Plan-Net was able to highlight vulnerabilities, risks and opportunities for improvements.
