The UK and Ireland’s leading risk and insurance law business, BLM (formed from the recent merger of Berrymans Lace Mawer and HBM Sayers) has agreed a five year IT Managed Support contract with Service Provider Plan-Net.
IT Services Provider, Plan-Net will provide IT support to all of BLM’s 1,600 staff across its 12 offices throughout the UK and Ireland.
Both 1st and 2nd line support will now be managed by Plan-Net and will be delivered through a combination of on-site teams with remote support from its 24/7 legal IT Service Desk based in London, Plan-Net 24.
The new model will help realise efficiencies and provide increased availability by extending hours of support to 8pm. The service will be delivered to Service Level Agreements agreed between both parties which cover first time fix rates, service resolution and customer satisfaction. This is the first major outsourcing contract for the law firm.
Abby Ewen, IT Director at BLM commented;
“BLM has grown in the last five years through combinations and geographically. For our staff, lawyers and customers it’s important we have an enterprise-level IT platform to support the firm’s growth and its continued ambition. Having the right IT solutions in place will enable us to deliver our legal services as efficiently and effectively as possible.Choosing Plan-Net to deliver our IT support, an IT provider with a trusted reputation in the legal sector, and by extending availability of this service are both major steps towards achieving this.”
Plan-Net Support Services Director, Pete Canavan added;
“We are delighted to be adding BLM to our list of legal clients and are committed to delivering high levels of service to support the law firm and its business goals.”
